To my Kinderhook Elks family and friends,
This year has definitely been a learning experience for me. I have had to eat my own words, because I became cocky and arrogant. It has been a humbling year. There were times when I truly struggled to get things done and to do my best for the members, this Lodge and the community. I'm not perfect and I mess up a lot!!!!! So, to that end I have to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stepped in to help not only at the Lodge but with my family as well. We truly are a family here, and I am grateful for all of you, even Cinnamon.
The year is coming to a change point. Officers are needed for the upcoming year. If you are interested in a chair, please reach out and ask. You will never be alone on your journey. I promise someone is always there to help guide you along the way. There are sheets on the board if you would like to put forth your name or come to the meetings on the second and fourth Mondays and throw your name into the mix.
I am excited to say the Dave Mooney has stepped up to be the new third Friday crew chief. In the same day and in the same breath I had two members tell me at the cash register that if there was anything they could do to help out they would. Door OPENED! you got it they said they would also join in on the fun. So thank you Garry Smith and Patrick Wemitt. Rick Stegman has also said when time permits, he will be there to help. AWESOME. The crew still needs two people, one to run the cash register and another to help with whatever needs done. It's only a few hours a month and believe it or not it is actually fun work.it is what you make of it.
This month is PER month, what that means is the PER's do the initiation and they work the dinner at St. Luke's. Initiation will be on the 18th of February at 3pm. I have a commitment for a few to make hors d'ouevres, but could use a few more. Text, email, call or message me and I will add your name to the list. Thank you in advance.
Short but sweet this month. Thank you for all you do for the Lodge, its members, and the community we serve. I challenge everyone to perform one act of kindness everyday, for that one small act may be huge to someone else.
