On Saturday, March 25th, the Lodge hosted a Spring Fling Special Needs Prom. Our guests were greeted at the door and received beautiful corsages and boutonnieres designed by Roseann Antonovich of Cottage Rose Florists.
A “help yourself” candy bar was supplied by Tammy McDermott. Attendees were treated to several different kinds of appetizers, vegetable and fruit platters and green punch. The main meal was tossed salad and baked penne. After dinner they enjoyed brownies by Denise, pink and blue cupcakes made by Lee Ann Alessi and a beautiful Prom cake donated by Mike Blasl.
After their meal participants had pictures taken as a memento of their special night. Music was provided by DJ Brian Michaels and the guests danced the night away until 9 pm.
This event takes months of preparation by the prom committee, coordinating with several outside departments. Tammy McDermott and Sandy Lacrosse did an excellent job of getting everyone and everything together, and working with Beth StClair Bedell and her staff. A big thank you to Jack Smith for doing hours of dish washing.
The night was a huge success! This year there were over 40 prom attendees from several upstate counties and 18 caregivers to ensure the night flowed smoothly. The entire team always feels accomplished by this event and looks forward to the next one. It was a night to remember for all.
